In a good place. Balanced and flavoursome. Pear, lemongrass, barley and sweet oak. Moves along at a good clip but there's just enough texture and spice to give the flavours an extra degree of linger. Quality/price looks attractive.
Native Goose Adelaide Hills Chardonnay 2014
Voluminous style. Chubby with oak and fruit but it holds its form well through the finish. Creamy cedar wood and peach flavours dominate until racy nectarine and citrus notes pull through. Big wine.
Native Goose Shiraz 2012
Deep crimson-purple; finesse is the first, somewhat unexpected, but delicious impression of this medium-bodied wine; it is nimble on its feet, red and black fruits, spice, savoury, meaty aromas and flavours engaged in a game of hide and seek that has no end. Terrific value.
Native Goose Shiraz 2013
Emphasises McLaren Vale's ability to produce Shiraz that has many of the characteristics of cool climate grapes, aided in this instance by excellent control of oak and tannins, leaving the blackberry and nuanced bitter chocolate fruit flavours centre stage.
Native Goose GSM 2012
Edges of fresh, grated coconut give this a real come-hither aspect. It's essentially raspberried and earthen with deeper, bass notes of ripe, juicy blackberry. Balance cannot be questioned.
